Opus klassik for anne-sophie mutter and jonas kaufmann

Violinist anne-sophie mutter and singer jonas kaufmann are prize winners of this year’s opus klassik. The awards were presented on sunday in berlin.

A nine-person jury of representatives from record companies, promoters and music publishers had previously selected award winners in 25 categories. The award is supported by the association for the promotion of classical music. The award ceremony at the konzerthaus berlin was on sunday evening (22.3 p.M.) with host thomas gottschalk also on the ZDF program.

Mother was honored as "instrumentalist of the year", kaufmann for his album "wien" in the category "klassik ohne grenzen". Other prizewinners are the conductor mirga gra?Inyt?-tyla, tenor daniel behle and soprano diana damrau for their recording of richard strauss’ "vier letzte lieder".

The mezzo-soprano el?Na garan?A and the soprano marlis petersen were honored as best singers, the pianist igor levit is "best seller of the year" for the recording of all beethoven piano sonatas. Awards were also presented to the recorder player dorothee oberlinger, the composer detlev glanert as well as the vision string quartet and the ensemble resonanz as orchestra of the year.

Among the best up-and-coming artists are the soprano elsa dreisig, the french tenor benjamin bernheim, the belgian clarinettist annelien van wauwe and the british pianist isata kanneh-mason.
