Mayerhofer with double win
Felix mayerhofer was once again unstoppable at the seblach city run. Suarez, who previously taught at the siegmund-loewe-realschule in kronach, first competed in the four-kilometer race – and then went on to run in the ten-kilometer main race. The result was the same in each case: he celebrated unchallenged victories.
After a two-year break, the city run was held again for the seblach old town festival – in its third edition. More than 200 participants took part in the three races on the challenging course around the city wall.
In the four-kilometer race, mayerhofer (DJK dasswang) immediately took the lead and gave second-placed christian birke no chance. Behind him in the overall standings was the U18 winner valentin herrmann of TSV monchroden. The fastest schoolgirl katrin schafer (TSV monchroden) also presented herself in great form.
In the main race over ten laps, felix mayerhofer had to fight a little harder for the win. However, alexander finsel (TV 48 coburg) from schwurbitz did not come closer than within sight of the winner. Mayerhofer crossed the finish line after 35:45 minutes, finzel – he was the winner of the M40 – finished the race 29 seconds later.
In the women's race, sophie hildebrandt from lichtenfels surprised everyone by winning the race in a time of 45:38 minutes. "I run five to six times a week because I enjoy running a lot", said hildebrandt. Overall second and winner of the W35 was sabrina wiercinski (TSV sonnefeld).
In the schoolchildren's and bambini runners' race over one lap (1200 meters), ten-year-old noah moller from TSV staffelstein beat the one-year-younger ben ruckdeschl (TV 48 coburg) in 4:48 minutes. In the girls' competition, the winner was antonia heimstadt (stadtkapelle seblach).
